Season's Greetings I was hoping to elaborate in depth on the holidays starting with last week's issue, but alas, even a major snow storm doesn't provide the time I need. Although it does add a certain something to the season that, say, palm trees and beaches just can't match.
I spent another in a growing list of Thanksgivings away from my families and most of my friends. Fortunately, a very good friend of mine (Tom) happens to be married to another very good friend of mine (Lori) and it just so happens they moved up to this area about 2 months after we did.
It also plays out that Tom and I just happen to be in the fantasy football league with Mike, who is pretty much ripping apart the league with his stellar squad. As for Tom and I, it was a Turkey day of football and food. A most excellent combination for those of us who are striken with the sports desease. Especially the food...as Tom and I faced off for last place. Ugh! The humility.
Anyway......it's just another reason to look at the reality of this time of year, and understand how those things such as football really don't mean a whole heck of a lot in the grand scheme. That said, I hope all of you who are with your loved ones really take the time to look around, and appreciate the moment. One day, they will be only memories. So make sure you make the most of it, and make them great ones.
(Belated) Happy Thanksgiving and God bless |
