CCG's (Collectible Card Games) and You!     Part 1

Hi everybody! Drow here back from the creepy darkness of the Brandon cave with a new article for ya!

Now everybody has heard about Yu-Gi-Oh and how it's sweeping the US with a vengeance!, well I for one was caught in the storm. But you must not forget about the other CCG's out there, like Magic: The Gathering or even (shudder) Poke'mon...

I used to play Magic and even Poke'mon and would still like to play magic, I just rebuilt a deck today too! Now I know there are other CCG's out there but I don't know that much about them so I'll just talk about the three.

Let's start with Yu-Gi-Oh shall we? OK! The rules start out simple enough... Each player has a deck of 40-60 cards consisting of any number of monsters, magic, and trap cards. At the start of the game you draw 5 cards and then play Rock-Paper-Scissors to choose who goes first or second. And then that's where it gets a little complicated, each monster has a star level, 1-4 stars means you can summon it normally, 5-6 requires 1 monster on the field as tribute, and 7+ require 2 tributes. And of course you can play one monster a turn. Now magic cards you can set or play up to 5 as long as you have open slots. Traps kinda have the same rules but you have to set them first and you can't use them until the next turn. And of course there are other rules and tricks to it all but that's a whole 'nother story and would take too long to type. (Or could go into the next chapter...---N) For more info about how the game is played connect on over to http://www.stormpages.com/edhrzic/Yugioh.htm and click on the English Expert Rules Page for a more in-depth explanation.

Stay tuned for next week I shall talk about the forgotten game of Magic: The Gathering! This is The Drow signing off with one last thing to say...If anyone reading this actually plays Yu-Gi-Oh send me an e-mail and maybe we can duel or trade sometime :D Peace out homies!
