Creature's Corner

Greetings and Salutations:
"Hey where's the wine." Oh, sorry. You can't get any good help anymore. The Zombies around here are, well let's just say they've seen better days. Anyway, the Gate Guardian has dropped the drawbridge again so come on in. Welcome to my madness.

Lizards
First up on the list; it was bound to happen. I've been waiting all year for this. They started coming up out of the ground about three weeks ago. There was only a few at first but then they began emerging more frequently, increasing their numbers by the hundreds, the thousands. Nothing is safe that can fit in the mouths of these alien Invaders......

Thank GOD they're only about an inch long. Yes everyone, it's that time of year again. The time for hundreds of Cuban Brown Anoles (Anolis sagrei sagrei) to sprout forth from the rain soaked Earth to take their place among the plants. The baby Anoles have been hatching for the last couple weeks and they're as cute as buttons. (I don't know where that statement comes from but, oh well).

Infinite Crisis
Anyway, next on the list, DC Comics countdown to it's "Infinite Crisis" storyline is in full swing and nearing a fever pitch. Four storylines are leading up to the "Big Event" of the year with many titles being sold out from the publishers just days after their release. "The Omac Project," "Day Of Vengeance," "Villains United," and "The Rann Thanagar War" are all heating up. There's quite a bit of good reading here so I hope everyone out there is picking up these titles. There's also some side stories developing in titles like "Superman," "Birds Of Prey," and "Gotham Knights."

Batman And Robin: The Boy Wonder
Another major event in the DC universe that has the industry buzzing is the hotly anticipated release of DC's All Star; "Batman And Robin: The Boy Wonder." Why is this title so hot you may ask? Well...It teams together two of comics most prized posessions; writer Frank Miller and artist Jim Lee. Together with Scott Williams and Adam Sinclair they have released the retelling of Young Dick Grayson's story. The writing leaves lots of questions, the artwork stunning. The inks and lettering are to perfection making this one real nice package. There are two separate covers for this book (distributed in equal quantities); one depicting Batman swinging through Gotham City, the other, Robin. This one is a keeper boys and girls so make sure you don't miss out.

Jim Aparo
On a final note, on Tuesday the comic community has lost yet another classic creator, Jim Aparo. Jim worked on lots of projects during his career. He is mostly noted for his work at Charlton Comics where he worked on Westerns, Horror, Mystery, and Romance stories. He then moved over to DC comics where he worked on Aquaman, The Phantom Stranger, Brave and the Bold, and was the artist on the Batman "Death In The Family" storyline. He was 72 years old. We'll miss you Jim.

Have a Great Week Everyone. C-Ya!!! OI!
