THE GOLDEN TICKET
Variety is reporting that director Tim Burton has offered the role of Willy Wonka to this summer's pirate king, Johnny Depp, in his version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. No word on Depp's decision.

SMELL THAT?
For the first time EVER, I have given a film 1/2 of one star in a review. How bad was The Medallion? Usually when I see a film with my son we bicker over who goes to get the popcorn refill. Not so this time. Besides, I told him if I went I wouldn't be coming back!

TOO MUCH TIME ON HER HANDS
Congratulations to 24-year-old Ma Lihua of Bejing, China. Seems she had 2 months to kill so she spent 13 hours a day for seven weeks setting up 281,581 dominoes just to knock them down, setting a new world's record for the longest solo domino topple. She almost lost out on her chance when a cockroach scurried across the floor and started an avalanche of almost 10,000 tiles before she could stop them.

IS IT MY BREATH?
After more then 100 potential landlords turned him down, a recently freed convicted pedophile has settled into a comfy double wide parked next to the prison he used to call home. Swearing to keep to himself, Brian DeVries promises to be sensitive to the nearby communities needs. "They're not going to see me in their theatres," he said. "They're not going to see me in their coffee shops. They're not going to see me in their town." He did not rule out them seeing him at the local playground. Asked how it felt to be out of prison after four years, DeVries replied, "Hell, I feel like a nine-year-old boy at Christmas. Or anytime, really."

WHAT!! NO MIKE POST?
This past weekend, TVLand devoted valuable air time to bring the world the top 40 television themes of all time. They are, in reverse order:

10. The Ballad Of Jed Clampett (from "The Beverly Hillbillies")
9. Green Acres
8. I'll Be There For You (from "Friends")
7. The Brady Bunch
6. Hey, Hey We're The Monkees
5. Hey, Scooby (from "Scooby Doo")
4. Where Everybody Knows Your Name (from "Cheers")
3. I Love Lucy
2. Happy Days
1. The Ballad of Gilligan's Island
Well, that's it for now. Have a great week. See ya!
