READER IDENTIFIES WITH PHYMED SCANDAL
Nolan,
Have been very interested in your columns about PhyMed. Was curious if you know when it will be decided what sort of "punishment" they will receive. Do you know? I too was fooled by them and am hoping that they get what they deserve.

Dear Reader:
Thanks for writing! The articles you refer to concerning PhyMed were written by PCR staff writer and book author William Moriaty who personally lived that nightmare. His response is below. --Nolan
WILL MORIATY RESPONDS:
Details about the sentencing of Lamar McMichaels and the PhyMed Partners scamola appeared in PCR's #282 and #302. It was disclosed in PCR #282 that McMichaels was sentenced to 20 years and $5,000,000 in a Federal criminal trial in August 2005, and in PCR #302 it was disclosed that he was charged by the SEC in a civil trial with three counts of fraud and one count of selling unregistered securities. As to the status of his sentencing, I have not been able to obtain any current information.

FROM THE STAR OF "THE CROSS"
Dear Nolan,
Thank you for your kind review of our film, THE CROSS. It was deeply appreciated, and encouraging.
Hope to see you at the next event as I want to become more involved and aware of what is going on in our film community.
Thanks again.

READER RECALLS THE KAPOK TREE INN
Nolan,
I was looking online for some information on the Kapok Tree Inn and came across your article. I have some doubt as to whether you can help but I will ask anyway. I too, used to eat some very nice meals there whenever I was in the area and was very dismayed to find it had closed, years ago. They used to have a side dish of Peas in some kind of Cream Sauce that was fabulous. I have never tasted anything like it since and would love to have the recipe or something close. Is there a way you could find out and send it to me?

Sandy,
Thanks for writing! I was likely not the one who wrote the Kapok Tree article, but the topic has been mentioned on this website many, many times. I personally do not have a way to secure any K.T. recipes, but putting your question in this lettercol earns it the decent exposure it needs to the of fans of old Florida who may be able to help us!
Readers: Any clue as to where one can get recipes used at the Kapok Tree Inn? ---Nolan
