My Second Toe Is Longer Than Yours

Oscar Snub

And the nominees for Best Documentary, Feature Length are:

  • Darwin's Nightmare
  • Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
  • Murderball
  • March of the Penguins
  • Street Fight

I say to that, BULLSHIT! We already know the Oscar is going to "March of the Penguins." We already know that anything with Morgan Freeman is usually an Oscar winner. Throw Morgan Freeman with slavery and you got a sure fire Oscar winner

The reason I say this is such bullshit is that the documentary "Grizzly Man" was not nominated. For those of you who have not seen it, "Grizzly Man" is a film about an activist who lived with wild bears. His name was Timothy Tredwell. Timothy was mauled and killed by one of the very bears he was protecting.

During Timothy's time in the Alaskan Wilderness he brought a camera and video taped his adventures to show children through out the country. Over 100 hours of footage was shot and what lies with in the footage is a story at least worth Oscar consideration.

Now I have to be honest the only documentary on the list that I have seen is "March of the Penguins." I will without a doubt give every other documentary a chance. I have heard wonderful things about the film "Murderball."

It will be interesting to see how this pans out on Oscar night. The reason I always liked watching the Documentary section of the show It seemed like the most uncommercialized part of the Oscars. I think that has all ended now.

No matter what, if you haven't seen "Grizzly Man", I highly suggest you check it out.
