Snail Mail - - Priority Style
I would like to expound on the lightning quick way the USPS Priority Mail service moves for its paying customer. And package recipient!

My order was scanned in to the post office on May 13th. What follows is the dateline for my expected purchase.

May 13, 2008 21:58:00 92506 Electronic Notification
May 19, 2008 20:41:00 SAN BERNARDINO, CA 92403 PROCESSED
May 21, 2008 01:52:00 SCARBOROUGH, ME 04074 PROCESSED

There was a notice in my mailbox that the package arrived today. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

To sum it up, they did an excellent of of getting it to me in 3 days once they shipped. the downside, of course, is that it sat around for 6 days at the drop off point which frankly doesn't seem to care too much about the art of expediency.

Guess they don't put too much Priority on that.

New FM Site
I've mentioned previously about the Philip Kim/Ray Ferry battle. In short, Kim tried to have the trademark of FM changed to himself, which he did by filing papers. Ray Ferry challenged this, offered proof he was the sole owner, and the mark was immediately transfered back to RF.

Well, it looks like PK has opened his own FM site, using the exact lingo as Ferry on the trademark byline.

Also using the FM Logo.

When first launched, the trademark ownership was named as 'Infringement Media', and has since been changed to PK. To me this smacks of someone just trying to get RF's goat.

Even so, the site is tilted more toward current horror than anything else, and is polar opposite to the Ferry site. It also seems they don't plan to launch a magazine, which is really all I'd care about anyway.

House of Dark Shadows!
No, it's not yet available on DVD, and I've no current news to wet your fangs, but some chap has been nice enough to upload HODS on YouTube in 12 parts, so you can log on and watch it there.

Gotta love YouTube.

John McCain Surprises!!!
I was done with my Rail, but had to add this last stanza after reading the news today.

As everyone who reads this should be aware, I have a hard time separating McCain from that idiot in the White House. This is due mostly to McCain sounding just like 'W' in one too many instances. Should state that, before this perceived alignment with evil took place, I always kinda liked the guy (McCain, not the idiot).

What a happy surprise I got today to see McCain stand against stupidity (something Bush too often embraced), when he rejected the support of Religious pundits John Hagee and Rod Parsley.

He did so after stupid comments came to light on behalf of both 'Men of God'(or is that Magog). Hagee saying God sent Hitler to massacre Jews in order to give them Israel, and Parsley saying Islam is inherent to evil and Muslim prophet Muhammad was "the mouthpiece of a conspiracy of spiritual evil."

Initially, McCain rejected some of Hagee's wild comments but accepted his support. That is until this latest blurb came to light, in which McCain immediately denounced the preacher from Texas and repudiated both men's comments; Hagee's as 'crazy and unacceptable' and Parsley's, saying, "I believe there is no place for that kind of dialogue in America, and I believe that even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him, the fact is that I repudiate such talk, and I reject his endorsement."

This move is so contrary to the Bush way of letting lies and slander carry him to victory that I'm beginning to think, possibly, McCain could be his own man. I can't begin to tell you how shocked I am over this. Being a Republican, and thinking I had no options, sans Ron Paul, really bothered me. While not completely sold on McCain, I have to take a step back and now give him some 'benefit of doubt'.

Would like to add that I was happy to see Obama not take the low road, and point out it's easy in politics to become aligned with those less than stellar in thought. And he didn't believe Hagee's comments had anything to do with McCain. Of course, we all know what Barack has just gone thru with his own preacher. Still, it's a nice change to see a political rival not pounce on something just because it's a negative.

I'm so stunned by all this; that there is actual thinking going on.

Guess it's true that time reveals all things. And that learning never ends. Let's hope this session stays on its positive, anti-stupidity course.

Have a great weekend! And God bless,

Matthew
