Corruption in Jersey & Crazies on FOX
A Sopranos style corruption case exploded in New Jersey with 44 arrests including three town mayors and several rabbis. The story discusses international money laundering, extortion, illegal campaign funding, trafficking of human organs and the selling of fake Gucci handbags.

Gucci bags and Rabbis -- sounds like a bad bar punchline.

We've witnessed several corruption cases and indictments, but the IRS and FBI raiding a Jewish synagogue and arresting mayors (one newly elected) makes this a bizarre story worth watching.

Sick Behavior on FOX News

I want to thank Robert Herriman, a writer for the Examiner and a colleague at work, for giving me the heads up on this horrific scene on FOX (and the Ron Paul post mentioned below.)

During this segment on FOX Lt. Col. Ralph Peters makes some extreme presumptuous comments regarding Taliban prisoner PFC Bowe Bergdahl.

Details have contradicted standard protocol as to why Bergdahl left his post, whether he was off duty and alone when abducted and of course, the accusation that he's a deserter. Lt. Peters crosses the line with this statement:

"Now look, Julie, I want to be clear. If, when the facts are in, we find out that through some convoluted chain of events, he really was captured by the Taliban, I'm with him. But, if he walked away from his post and his buddies at wartime... I don't care how hard it sounds, as far as I'm concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills."

Peters has stated that terrorists don't have rights, we should kill all of the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. His extreme perspective isn't totally off base but we should NEVER be so callous over to of our POWs, especially in the middle of wartime. Deserter or not, PVC. Bergdahl is an American soldier and needs our support. If he abandoned his post, then he can be indicted in a military court, not face execution by our terrorist enemies.

Peters should apologize. FOX should apologize and dismiss Peters from appearances on their programs.

As Healthcare Turns
The soap opera of socializing healthcare adds chapters nearly hourly as Senator Harry Reid told reporters that despite the "deadline" objectives from President Obama, the Healthcare bill will not be voted upon until after August.

One nationalized healthcare objection after another have fallen on deaf ears in Washington. I personally find the healthcare bill a reckless disregard for the financial stability of our country and its $2 trillion deficit this year alone.

Even Ron Paul discusses alternatives to healthcare bill, but more importantly the difference between a "right" and "good." Here Paul accurately depicts the entitlement attitude that is sweeping across the country.

There have been some valid points of contradiction between cutting costs and adding a massive government healthcare program.

Joe Biden addressed AARP discussing our bankrupt status and stating the plans of this administration: spend money to make money. CNSNews summarizes this event as Biden explains the failed idea that they are shoving down our throats.

How many people who are bankrupt should take out a massive loan? How did so many Americans become so dependent and have a feeling of entititlement?

Dana Bash CNN reporting on healthcare describes Democratic senators as "baffled", another senior Democratic source says Democrats are "frustrated" -- they're not getting more specific direction. This is the statement: "We appreciate the rhetoric and his (President Obama) willingness to ratchet up the pressure but what most Democrats on the Hill are looking for is for the president to weigh in and make decisions on outstanding issues. Instead of sending out his people and saying the president isn't ruling anything out, members would like a little bit of clarity on what he would support - especially on how to pay for his health reform bill."

Is it possible even other Democrats have awoke to disasterous potential of this bill?

Slanderous Debate
Obama characterizing physicians:

"Right now, doctors a lot of times are forced to make decisions based on the fee payment schedule that's out there...The doctor may look at the reimbursement system and say to himself, 'You know what? I make a lot more money if I take this kid's tonsils out,'" Obama told a prime-time news conference.

The president added: "Now, that may be the right thing to do, but I'd rather have that doctor making those decisions just based on whether you really need your kid's tonsils out or whether it might make more sense just to change maybe they have allergies. Maybe they have something else that would make a difference."

That's just unfair to portray doctors with such a broad stroke of fraud. Many doctors and nurses pursue the career not just for profit, but to fulfill their inner desire to heal and better people's lives.

Sermo is the largest doctor online community (like a myspace without the gossip) and the latest press release confirms numbers that ONLY 17% of physicians are in the AMA. This SERMO statement conveys a message that many of us in the medical field know -- this is a bad idea.

More government healthcare is bad for doctors, patients, and the taxpayers.

The President has used this callous portrayal of AIG executives, Chrysler bond holders and now doctors to further his agenda. We can only hope Americans stay vocal and vigilant in our efforts to stop nationalized healthcare from becoming reality.

That's Senator Racist to You....
Senator Barbara Boxer insults Harry Alford, CEO of the Black Chamber of Commerce. You can watch the video here.

Always fun to watch the racist Democrats reveal their true colors while targeting a minority that has wandered off the political reservation. "Different opinions in the black community" was the implication in a hearing on energy -- so it's about race and NOT the science.

Alford: "We are referring to the experts, regardless of color." How dare he disagree with the Black Chamber of Commerce and the NAACP especially if he's black? Alford says he took the Boxer comments as "colored boy, what are you doing with this report?", "it was like being in Mississippi in 1945", and it was "vile Jim Crow."

If we want racial equality in America then we need to stop pretending the Republicans have sole ownership of racism against blacks. We have to stop pretending that the Democrats are universally overtly tolerant leaders and supporters of minorities.

BTW, To: Mr. Alford, that's Senator racist to you. She's worked hard for that position.

(For anyone that doesn't get my joke, watch this clip.)

Racism is everywhere, so don't act stupidly

The AP snuck in a story in which President Obama claimed the Cambridge, Massachusetts police "acted stupidly" when they arrested black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. while investigating a possible break in.

Evidently the officers arrived to the Gates' home and asked him to produce ID, which he did, but then proceeded to ask the officer for their badge numbers etc...escalating the conversation. Gates' claim is that he was being targeted for being a black man.

He was booked for disorderly conduct after "exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior," (according to a police report). Gates accused the investigating officer of being a racist, told him he had "no idea who he was messing with" the report said. He was booked for disorderly conduct after "exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior," but those charges have been dropped.

From the President: "What I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That's just a fact."

That disparity is a reminder that "race remains a factor in the society," Obama said.

It certainly reminds us Mr. President that you WILL indeed ensure race remains a factor. Normal, average folk don't provoke the police and pull the "you don't know who your messing with card."

I know you are wondering, and no, the President has never spoke out against Senator Boxer's remarks.

Sgt. Crowley who arrested gates has had tons of supporters and it's being reported he was hand picked by a black police commissioner to teach recruits to avoid racial profiling. Here's the full AP story.

That's a GO Comrade
Russia claims that the nuclear reactor Russia is building in Iran will be turned on this year. Iran claims their nuclear program is purely peaceful and the Russians say Iran cannot have nuclear weapons.

Well, I don't know about you, but I feel safer. Everything is still a "GO" and we all feel really comfortable that the Russians have everything under control.

The Iranians, who sit on a sea of oil and natural resources could not want (or get from the Russians) nuclear enrichment technology to make weapons.

They're a peaceful nation. Look at how they've handled the election protests.....nevermind.

Look at how peaceful they have addressed Israel and ....nope.

Look at how smoothly President Obama's comment were received in Tehran....ok, forget it.

The Russians say it's ok, we should all feel better.

Funny Lady
The North Koreans took a shot at Hillary Clinton ( here) calling her unintelligent and a "funny lady."

Well, she started it by comparing Pyongyang's missile tests to the behavior of an unruly teenager.

Pyongyang then called the Secretary of State a "poopie pants" in which Hillary said "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you." While the foreign minister didn't reply, an undisclosed spokesperson retorted something about "I know you are but what am I."

I love our new foreign policy. She could bow to the little fella, but she'd fall on her face.

Enemy in NYC
Have you ever heard of Bryant Neal Vinas? Bashir al-Ameriki? Ben Yameen al-Kandee? The 26 year-old American citizen was preparing to be a suicide bomber.

Vinas has pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to murder U.S. nationals, providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and receiving military-type training from a foreign terrorist organization.

He left for Pakistan in 2007, admitted to bombing a US base in Afghanistan in 2008 and finally arrested in Pakistan details reported here at CNN.

Folks, despite what we're told or what so many want to believe, the Islamic terrorists are still out there, even in our cities.

Quote of the Week
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. -- William Boetcker NOT Abraham Lincoln

I went with this quote to help disprove a chain email that attibutes this quote to Lincoln, misleading readers. Even Wikipedia discusses the "The Ten Cannots", history behind the quotes and debunks this error. President Lincoln said a lot of great things, this just was not one of them.
